We are looking for an outstanding individual to work within the thriving Conference & Events team as Senior Conference and Events Coordinator.

This is a temporary post for Fixed-Term Contract to cover maternity, ideally with a starting date from 1 March for a minimum of 12 to 13 months.

You will play an important role within the team, assisting in the smooth day-to-day running of commercial and internal events and contributing to the delivery of team goals as set by the Conference and Events Management team.

The College is an established venue for commercial activity; external business includes residential conferences, formal dining, Summer Schools, weddings, day meetings and many other types of events. We are a professional and dedicated team who strive to deliver the highest level of customer service to support our clients in achieving their objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, proactive and solution focused, organised and enjoy seeing events through from the first point of contact with a client to delivering it to the front of house team.

This is an ideal position for someone looking to work within a busy and friendly office. Working hours will primarily be from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (some flexibility may be possible).

Duties

- To assist the Conference and Events Management team in developing, maintaining and increasing the Conference and Events business.
- Developing and maintaining successful working relationships with new and existing clients to ensure a high level of repeat business is maintained.
- Assisting with incoming sales, emails, calls and enquiries for bookings, advising clients on appropriate, availability, space and catering to suit their requirements.
- Dealing with enquiries from clients; send out information; show customers round the college; face to face selling, negotiating and answering key questions.
- In liaison with your manager create, plan and organise bookings for conferences, College functions, accommodation, receptions, dinners and other catering events.
